ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A 20-year-old man was arrested at a public library on the Eastern Shore and charged with sex offenses involving a young girl.

On Friday, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sex offense at the Eastern Shore Public Library in Parksley at approximately 3 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered a man who advised he was there to meet a female juvenile whom he had sent explicit photos, according to Sheriff W. Todd Wessells.

The man, identified as Matthew Thomas of Parksley, was charged with the use of a computer to commit certain sex offenses with a minor. Additional charges may be pending.

Thomas was remanded to the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.
