HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Police Division has arrested a man in connection to a robbery they say happened on October 20.

40-year-old Dominique Cathcart, of Newport News, turned himself in to police on October 27, police said. He’s charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Around 8:30 p.m. on October 20, police say they were called in reference to a robbery in the 1st block of Hampton Club Drive.

The investigation revealed that the victim, an adult woman, was at the Navy Federal Credit Union ATM when she was approached by the suspect, police said. The suspect showed a gun, and entered her car while demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the location on foot, southbound, toward the Hampton Club apartment complex, police said.

On Nov. 1 James City County Police arrested Cathcart for robbing a Papa John’s.
