NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The United Way of Virginia Peninsula marked its 83rd anniversary with a historic milestone.
Charvalla West has shattered two glass ceiling inside the organization by being the first woman and African American to serve as CEO of the United Way Virginia Peninsula.
West joined the United Way of Virginia Peninsula in 2015 and previously served as its COO for over six years.
Additionally, West serves on the board of directors for Riverside Regional Hospital and the advisory board for James City County Department of Social Services.
