NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The deadline is approaching to submit nominations for the 2025 FBI Citizens Academy in Norfolk. All nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 1.

“FBI Norfolk’s Citizens Academy provides an incredible opportunity for members of the community to better understand the work of the FBI and partner with us in keeping Hampton Roads citizens safe,” said Brian Dugan, special agent in charge of the FBI Norfolk Field Office.

Classes meet Wednesday nights from 6-9 p.m. for eight weeks, between April 2 to May 21, 2024. Topics include countering terrorism, public corruption and violent crime, among others. Participants can join FBI special agents and SWAT members for demos.
