The 23rd Norfolk Latino Music Festival brings culture, entertainment and food to the Downtown Norfolk waterfront. Enjoy live performances, Latin cuisine, family-friendly activities, dance lessons and more.
Butterfly Festival at NBG
Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Norfolk Botanical Garden; free with garden admission
The annual Butterfly Festival is hosted by the Butterfly Society of Virginia. Learn about the world of butterflies with educational booths, take a journey with the kid’s passport, and check out delicious treats from food trucks. It will be held in the main building, Baker Hall Visitor and Rose Garden Hall.
Virginia Symphony Orchestra: Concert in the Park
Sunday, July 21 from 6-10 p.m. at Town Point Park; Free and open to the public.
This year The Perry Family Foundation and TowneBank present “Where Wishes Come True: A Night of Enchanted Melodies.” The show begins at 8:30 p.m. Enjoy the night under the stars with works and stories by Disney, Dreamworks and more. Todd Craven is the conductor. It features guest vocalist Grace Morgan. The park opens at 6 p.m. for pre-concert picnics. There will be gourmet artisan foods and beverages available for purchase.

Second Annual Beach Blanket Movie Festival
July 16-20 at 29th Street at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront; Free and open to the public
The second-annual Beach Blanket Movie Festival is this week. This year’s theme is “Jurassic Experience.” Watch family-favorites, sure to entertain the whole crowd! There will even be themed dinosaur displays. Here are the movies coming up:
- Wednesday, July 17: Jurassic Park (PG-13)
- Thursday, July 18: The Land Before Time (G)
- Friday, July 19: The Good Dinosaur (PG)
- Saturday, July 20: Jurassic World (PG-13)
