NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A car slammed into Booker T. Washington High School early Saturday morning, according to police.

Around 4:30 a.m., police responded to 1111 Park Ave. for the report of a car hitting a building.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the driver, a 21-year-old woman, suffering from non life-threatening injuries. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Students returned to class Monday morning following the crash. Photos from the scene show police tape blocking off the area of damage to the building.

Police say charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
