NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Downtown Norfolk Council (DNC) is scheduled to present the Downtown Norfolk Strategic Plan update on Wednesday.
The meeting will discuss the major goals for the organization over the next three to five years.
The DNC worked alongside the Progressive Urban Management Associates (PUMA) and received over 2,000 points of input from the community in order to decide what the organization should focus on in the upcoming years.
The four major goals for the DNC can be found below:
- Be the leading voice and advocate for Downtown Norfolk
- Ensure Downtown is clean and safe.
- Drive economic vitality and ground floor activation in Downtown Norfolk.
- Promote and market Downtown Norfolk as a destination for the region and beyond.
The Member Briefing will hear from DNC President and CEO Mary Miller and DNC Board Chair Mel Price regarding key takeaways, goals and strategies, followed by questions from members and stakeholders.
The event will take place at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27. It is open to members and stakeholders. Non DNC members can attend for a $25 fee.
The information discussed at the meeting will be available to the public on Downtown Norfolk’s website after the event.
