NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — After a jury could not agree on a verdict, the case against one of the two men charged in the March 2019 shooting death of William & Mary football player Nathan Evans ended in a mistrial Friday.

Evans was found shot on a sidewalk on the 800 block of West 43rd Street on March 21, 2019, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Evans was a sophomore at William & Mary. The campus help a gathering in honor of him after his passing.

Bryant was facing charges for first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Kri’Shawn D. Beamon was also charged in connection to the incident and faces second-degree murder, robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection to Evans’ death.
