NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk Animal Care Center (NACC) is asking for the communities support.
Currently, all of NACC’s kennels are full and there is no room for Mira, a recently surrendered Akita/Malinois mix. Her owners surrendered her the NCAA’s care because they are without a home.
The center is in search of someone who will adopt, rescue or foster Mira.
NCAA’s adoption hours are from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. everyday except Wednesdays.
According to NACC, here are few ways anyone can support shelter dogs:
- Donate a bag of Hills Science Diet dog food
- Foster a Dog. Fostering is free and all supplies are provided. Email fosternacc@norfolk.gov to arrange a foster pickup.
- Adopt. All dog fees are $75 and include basic vaccines, microchip and spray/neuter surgery.
- Look for your lost pet at the shelter. Most of the pets at NACC are found in the community.
- Reunite friendly, uninjured lost pets before bringing them to the shelter. Post flyers, post to social media lost and found pages and ask around the area where the pet was found.
