NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The number of passengers flying in and out of Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is reaching new heights.
February 2024 was ORF’s 13th consecutive record-setting month. The airport is reporting a 13.2% increase in passenger activity for February, with 298,452 passengers.
The January to February 2024 total passenger count increased 11.9% over the same period in 2023.
The airport is also reporting that 3,809,837 pounds of cargo were shipped in and out of Norfolk International in February 2024. That’s actually a nearly 20% decrease compared to the prior year.
The numbers represented above reflect figures provided by Allegiant, American, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, Spirit and United airlines and their airline partners, as well as charter airlines. All-cargo carriers include Federal Express and UPS.
Norfolk International reported more than 4.5 million passengers and over 75,000 flight operations in 2023.
