NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Norfolk is set to launch a third round of Notice of Funding Availability (NoFA) to develop housing and provide services to unhoused and at-risk-residents.

The application period will be open for housing developers and area nonprofits from June 17 through July 1.

Norfolk was awarded over $4 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the HOME-ARP Program through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which goes towards providing housing, support and shelter to vulnerable populations.

Those who are interested in applying must follow NoFA directions, submit an application and demonstrate an interest and ability to administer activities described in Norfolk’s HOME-ARP Allocation Plan. Organizations who have existing funding do not need to reapply for funds.

Applications must be filled out electronically through the City’s Grant Solicitation Portal by 11:59 p.m. on July 1.

For more information on application submissions, email HUDEntitlement@norfolk.gov with the subject line “HOME-ARP Application Question.”
