NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a bank robbery at a Norfolk Truist, police said.
According to officials, officers were dispatched to the Truist on East Little Creek Road just after 9:30 a.m. for reports of a robbery. By the time officers arrived, the suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Lemar A. Veale Jr., had already fled.
Police said Veale entered the bank and demanded money.
Shortly after fleeing the scene, Veale was found in Portsmouth and later taken into police custody.
Veale is charged with robbery, use of a firearm and threats in writing. He is currently being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
