Police arrest man suspected of robbing, threatening to bomb Norfolk Wells Fargo

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo bank on Monticello Ave. back on July 12 has been arrested.

Norfolk police say 35-year-old Steven M. Brown was arrested on Monday in the 100 block of West Ocean View Avenue without incident.


Brown is accused of entering the bank at 440 Monticello Ave. on July 12 and taking money from a clerk under the threat that he had a bomb.

He fled the bank before police arrived and no injuries were reported.

He’s been charged with one count each of robbery and threatening to bomb. He’s in the Norfolk City Jail with bond denied.
