NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – This summer, stop by the Norfolk Public Library for the Summer Reading Program.
The theme for this summer is “Adventure Begins at Your Library”. All ages, children and adults, can be a part of the adventure and get involved.

Through Aug. 3, find books and log reading minutes. See how much you can read this summer.
Get excited for weekly prize drawings! You have more of a chance to win the more you read.
Kids can win a Lego Set, drum kit, Kodak instafilm camera and more. Adults will be given prize bundles, showcasing many local businesses. Bundles include skin and body care from Less Than Norfolk, a candle bundle from Norfolk Candle or a local history bundle from Hunter House Victorian Museum.
To participate, you don’t have to be in Norfolk, but you do need a Norfolk Public Library card.
That’s not all happening at Norfolk Public Library this summer. Believe in Learning Norfolk is partnering with the library to host the Summer of Learning.
Through August 3, take advantage of six weeks of engaging learning opportunities for all ages.
For the summer, Norfolk Public Library has partnered with Norfolk Public Schools Nutrition. They will provide free meals for all children 18 and under through Aug. 9 (except July 4).

Other cities are also highlighting reading with summer programs and activities.
The Newport News Public Library and the Hampton Public Library are hosting summer reading programs for all ages. The city of Virginia Beach Public Library is hosting a summer reading program for kids through 8th grade.
