NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A Norfolk woman was sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison for fentanyl trafficking.

According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) intercepted a package containing a pound of cocaine, being shipped from California to Norfolk. On Dec. 13, 2023, investigators tracked the delivery to the intended address in Norfolk. They observed a co-conspirator collect the package and drive away with it. The co-conspirator, upon realizing law enforcement was following, threw the package from the car.

Investigators took the co-conspirator into custody, then a short time later observed Felisha Alexander, aka Fe, and another co-conspirator leaving her home. They saw the co-conspirator place a backpack in the trunk of a car parked in front of the home. Following a canine alert, investigators searched the vehicle and Alexander’s home.

They recovered the backpack, which contained a mixture of para-fluorofentanyl and fentanyl, and 2,815 fentanyl pills pressed to appear like legitimate medicine. Additionally, investigators recovered numerous tracking receipts for shipped parcels, a loaded handgun, and approximately $82,000 from Alexander’s home. They also took several cellphones into evidence, which contained communications between Alexander and a third co-conspirator coordinating the shipping and distribution of controlled substances.

Chief U.S. District Judge Mark S. Davis issued Alexander’s sentencing on Dec. 12, 2024.

This case is part of the U.S. Department of Justice Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program.
