NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Norfolk Police responded to a shooting near Church Street Thursday night.
According to officials, just after 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Wide Street for reports of a gunshot victim.
Officers arrived to the scene and found a 30-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transferred to a local hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.
After an investigation, officers arrested and charged 32-year-old Rico L. Lindsey with malicious shooting, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, malicious shooting in an occupied building, shooting in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Lindsey is currently being held at Norfolk City Jail without bond.
