NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — In response to recent FAFSA processing delays, Old Dominion University announced it will extend admissions deposit and housing deadlines for all first-year students.
Issues with the launch of the FAFSA Simplification Act have impacted the accessibility of applicant data at universities nationwide.
The deadline for admission deposits has been extended until June 1, 2024. Students can pay admission deposits online. Housing applications and assignment deadlines have also been extended.
The new early action deadline is now May 28, 2024. Time-slot notifications for self-selection will be emailed by May 31, 2024 and the self-selection process will take place June 4 through June 30, 2024.
Student housing reservations can be canceled at no cost until June 15, 2024.
“We are committed to meeting students and parents where they are in their college decision-making journey by extending the time needed to make an informed choice,” “ODU prides itself on providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all new Monarchs, including unparalleled orientation experiences to support the new student transition immediately following Admitted Students Day on April 6, 2024.”
Ashley Miller, ODU Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.
