2 sought after armed robbery at ODU dorm

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — An armed robbery investigation is underway at Old Dominion University (ODU).

Around 2:38 a.m. on Sept. 3, ODU police responded to the 4700 block of Elkhorn Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. 


According to the alert sent to the campus community, three individuals displayed handguns, approached the victims and demanded personal belongings. 

Police confirmed this happened at the Scotland House, a dormitory in the center of campus.

ODU police officers saw a vehicle speed away from the scene while they were responding to the incident.

Officers were able to intercept the vehicle and take the driver, Sekai Hughley, into custody. However, the two passengers took off on foot.

Hughley has been charged with carry loaded firearm into certain localities; extended magazine; robbery; using of firearm; firearm; brandishing firearm; use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Shortly afterwards, one of the suspects, 20-year-old Quincy Banks, was taken into custody. He faces four counts of armed robbery and four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Isiah Harrison

ODU police have identified the third suspect as Isiah Harrison, 20. Police say he remains at large and has no known address.
