NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A suspect is in custody following a domestic-related shooting that left a man dead late Monday night.

Dispatchers were first notified about the shooting in the 600 block of Mariners Way at 11:48 p.m.

Police say 18-year-old Rasaun Davidson was found deceased on scene and a woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

After further investigation, police named 56-year-old George Antonio Boyd as the suspect in connection to the incident. Boyd was arrested and charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault and malicious wounding.

A neighbor who didn’t want to be identified tells 10 On Your Side what she heard.

“I hear two big ole bangs, and I know it’s a gunshot,” she said.

She said she’s heard arguments outside that family’s home before.

“I heard a few arguments out there, but I didn’t pay it no mind because they’re arguing out there all the time. But when I heard two big bangs, that’s when I looked out and seen and heard the kids hollering, ‘mommy, mommy!’ I knew something was going on out there,” she said.

Boyd is currently in the custody of Norfolk City jail without bond.
