NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 17-year-old boy has died following a crash on Chesapeake Boulevard in the Norview area of Norfolk Tuesday night, police said.
Around 10:17 p.m. police were called to a single vehicle crash on the 6500 block of Chesapeake Boulevard. When officers arrived on the scene they discovered that a car had hit a concrete pillar.
The 17-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died. The driver and another passenger are expected to be okay. Investigators believe that speed was a factor in the crash.
This incident is still under investigation by police. Once the investigation is complete, the finding will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
