NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A woman has died after being shot on Dudley Avenue in Norfolk Wednesday, Norfolk Police said.

The call for the shooting in the 600 block of Dudley Avenue came in around 9:55 p.m.

The woman, identified as Jessica Ayers, 35, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital for treatment, where she later died from her injuries.

As a result of their investigation, detectives have charged Quinton D. Wade, 37, of Norfolk, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.

Wade was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. on March 28 and is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
