NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened early Sunday morning near Old Dominion University.
Norfolk dispatchers originally confirmed two men were hurt in the shooting around W. 49th Street and Killam Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, but police later announced Monday a third person was struck.
All three men were located in the area and taken to Norfolk General with non life-threatening injuries.
“It sounded like someone lit a row of firecrackers,” said Bethany Finley.
The shooting happened right near Gresham Hall dorm.
Finley was home, and at first didn’t understand what was happening outside her window, but soon came to the realization.
“I heard somebody crying for help so we open the front door and the two young men were laying in the street,” she said.
No suspect details or other information is available at this time, but anyone with information is asked to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
