NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — On Wednesday evening, police responded to reports of a shooting in Norfolk.

According to dispatch, the shooting occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. in the 700 block of Chapel Street, near E. Virginia Beach Boulevard.

Police said officers arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
