VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The man accused of stabbing two people and then taking three children from Virginia Beach, leading to an Amber Alert and a deadly crash, waived his right to an extradition hearing Monday from Prince George’s County, Maryland.
That means he will come back to Virginia Beach soon to face charges.
A spokesperson for the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney said they do not yet have an extradition date.
Police say Plummer stabbed his ex-wife and his 12-year-old stepdaughter on Jay Are Court, then drove to Maryland with his three children.
Police caught him after he crashed on the Capitol Beltway, leading to the death of the youngest child, 16-month old Za’riyah Plummer. The other two children, Zayin Plummer, 7, and Zayir Pummer, 5, were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Dana Plummer was also taken to the hospital for medical treatment before being taken into Maryland Department of Corrections’ custody.
Due to the multi-state crime allegations, Maryland State Police is handling the crash investigation, and Virginia State Police is leading the police pursuit investigation.
