On March 1, 2024, Tyquan Raysean Anderson was sentenced after his Nov. 15 trial resulted in a conviction for manslaughter, two counts of unlawful wounding and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Evidence presented by the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney during the trial showed that Anderson fired multiple gunshots on June 1, 2019, toward an individual who was standing near the victim on Mt. Vernon Avenue in the London Oaks neighborhood. Artis was not the intended target. Several other people were injured in the shooting.
