PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – A man was found shot with a non life-threatening injury on South Street in Portsmouth, police confirmed early Friday morning.

Portsmouth Police are investigating a gunshot wound incident near the 1600 block of South Street, where they found an injured man, who was taken to the hospital.

Police dispatch said the call came in at 12:31 a.m.

Police said they would provide more information as it becomes available.
