PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police believe a boy accidentally shot and injured himself Wednesday afternoon in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth police said the incident happened near the 40 block of Harvard Road around 4:30 p.m.
The 15-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment with an injury not considered life-threatening.
Police said the shooting “appears” to be accidental and the wound self-inflicted.
