PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police are now investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead with a gunshot wound in Portsmouth Monday evening.
According to Portsmouth police, officers responded to the 100 block of Allard Road around 7 p.m. Monday regarding reports of shots fired. When they got to the scene, officers the victim suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Alaejah Johnson.
Details are still limited regarding the incident.
Portsmouth police scheduled a RESET Walk set for Thursday at 3 p.m. regarding the incident.
