Small fire in Suffolk apartment building causes minor damage, no injuries

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — There was a small fire at a four-story building Friday afternoon in Suffolk.

At approximately 2:55 p.m., Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm activation in the 6000 block of Meridian Obici Way.


Crews arrived at the scene and found a small fire on the third-floor balcony of the apartment building.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and checked the balcony to ensure there was no fire there.

There was a minor extension of the fire into an apartment, but there were no injuries, and no one was displaced.
