Sometimes in weather patterns repeat themselves… and we’ll see a similar set up this weekend like we did last… muggy and soggy.

Some days are better than others… and Friday will most certainly be the better day this weekend. The front that produce the nasty thunderstorms Thursday evening drops to our south and provides us with brighter conditions. Only an isolated shower or two is possible, mainly in the afternoon.

Not only do we get a brief break from the rain (most of us, not all of us), we get some relief from the summer heat! Temperatures are set to dip into the 80s for most of Friday afternoon. It’ll still be muggy, but a lot more comfortable than days past!

I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow by The Soggy Bottom Boys
I have to be the bearer of bad news for the remainder of the weekend as more rain chances move back in. The same front dips to the south Friday, lifts back north on Saturday and stalls across the region. A stalled, stubborn stationary front in a summer, muggy air mass is no fun. Scattered showers and downpours are likely for Saturday and Sunday.
Rain chances could even linger into early next week! July is really showing off in terms of rainfall.
