SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — After a Thursday night ended in violence in Suffolk, the community is coming together for a vigil on Monday, Sept. 16, hosted by an organization with personal ties to two of the victims.

A shooting on Sept. 12 left two men dead, and three additional people injured, including two men and a woman. The incident occurred on East Washington Street. The vigil is set to be hosted by SUFF Impact at Salvation Army Corps & Community Center, 400 Bank St. at 6 p.m.

The two victims that were killed were identified as William Goodman and Demonte Tillery. William is the brother of Justin Goodman, who serves as the Chaplain of SUFF Impact and Tillery was the cousin of Trivelle Gambrell, president of SUFF Impact.

Political, religious and community leaders are expected to be in attendance.
