SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire to a home on Whaleyville Boulevard Friday night.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 1600 block of Whaleyville Boulevard for a residential structure fire around 10:13 p.m., with the first units arriving eight minutes later.
It said the fire was out by the time they arrived, however, crews found moderate smoke throughout the residence.
Two people and five dogs were able to get out of the home safely before first responders arrived, with both people taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and are currently in stable condition.
The Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.
