SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police are investigating cars found damaged by gunshots on Saturday, January 21.

Police received a call around 8:10 p.m. for shots fired on the 4600 block of Hardy Court.

In an update Thursday, police say an investigation revealed the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Wilbur Cross, was at Hardy Court when he got into a verbal altercation and pulled a handgun and began shooting.

Initially, police believed only a few unoccupied vehicles had been struck by gunfire, however, further investigation showed that an occupied residence had also been struck. There were no injuries reported.

Police say they arrested Cross on Monday in connection to the shooting. Cross has been charged with brandishing a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, attempted malicious wounding, shooting in a public place and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

The investigation remains ongoing.
