SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Two people are displaced following a fire Sunday afternoon in Suffolk.

On February 5, around 1:47 p.m. firefighters received a call about a house fire on the 100 block of Beechwood Drive.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found heavy fire coming from multiple windows of the single-story home and smoke pushing from the eaves. Officials say one occupant evacuated prior to crews arriving at the scene.

The residence sustained heavy fire damage. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported. Officials say two occupants were displaced from the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
