SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a house fire early Tuesday morning.
According to officials, crews were dispatched to the 4900 block of Marina Drive around 7:15 a.m. for reports of a residential fire.
Crews arrived to the scene and found light smoke showing from a single-story home. Once inside, firefighters experienced heavy black smoke. Shortly afterwards, crews were able to locate the fire in a converted garage.
Fire crews said the fire was contained to the converted room, but that the entire house suffered moderate smoke damage.
The fire was considered under control by 7:33 a.m. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
