SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Applications for the Downtown Suffolk Advisory Committee are now open.

Committee members serve as intermediaries between the community and the city. It was established to provide recommendations on Suffolk’s Downtown revitalization.

The committee is comprised of 11 members who are tasked with promoting economic development, preserving historical landmarks, enhancing public spaces, and fostering a vibrant downtown atmosphere.

Members are appointed by the Suffolk City Council, they represent various sectors of the community including residents, business owners, property owners, and other stakeholders with a vested interest in Downtown Suffolk.

Those interested in serving on the Downtown Suffolk Advisory Committee should apply online at www.suffolkva.us. The deadline to apply is July 1.
