SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Great Suffolk Cleanup will take place across the city on March 22 and March 23.
Part of a nationwide initiative, the Great Suffolk Cleanup is a two-day effort to clear litter and debris from streets, neighborhoods, and parks.
In 2023, thousands of volunteers removed over two thousand bags of trash and nearly one thousand tires from around the city.
Suffolk City Manager Al Moor established the initiative last year.
“I hope to make The Great Suffolk Cleanup an annual tradition. Your participation is invaluable, whether young or young at heart- you can make a difference,” said Moor. “Once again, our city staff is participating, but we need the entire community to chip in—civic organizations, businesses, families, and individuals. I plan to be back out on Wilroy Road again.”
