Suffolk Police investigating homicide after man found shot in two-vehicle accident

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot following a two-vehicle accident on Friday.

Suffolk officials say the accident happened just after 6 p.m. in the 6000 block of College Drive.


Officials say one of the drivers, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was found with a gunshot wound.

The man was later identified by police as 19-year-old Sidney Watson of Chesapeake. Officials say the cause of death has not been determined.

The passenger in the same vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of gunshot wound, but they are expected to be okay.

The southbound lanes of College Drive were closed near Magnolia Drive and University Boulevard while police investigated. Detours were in place.
