SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk police say they’ve arrested a suspect involved in a string of recent business robberies.
30-year-old Chesapeake resident Sable Slade Rodriguez was arrested Wednesday morning in the 3500 block of Calverton Way in Chesapeake with help from Chesapeake officers. He’s been charged with four counts each of breaking and entering, grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, destruction of property and larceny with intent to distribute.
Police say Rodriguez’s arrest came hours after officers spotted him loading stolen goods into his vehicle around 2:34 a.m. at a business in the 650 block of Hampton Roads Parkway.
During that encounter a Suffolk police officer fired a single shot, but there were no reported injuries or property damage. The officer is on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation.
Meanwhile, after Rodriguez’s arrest, police say they were able to link him to a series of commercial burglaries in January. He’s being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
