Tommy’s Restaurant in Hampton reopens after car crash

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A popular Hampton restaurant is back open after a car crashed into it last month.

Tommy’s Restaurant, a “family style home cooking” establishment at 3406 W. Mercury Blvd., reopened this week.

“Guess what?? The wait is over,” Tommy’s said on Facebook. “The doors will be open to everyone on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. We can’t thank everyone enough for their continued patience and well wishes during this time. As stated in our previous posts, we have missed you all.  Our business hours are the same. We are open Tuesday thru Sunday from 7am until 3pm. We offer dine in, catering, take out and curb side. You can reach us  757-825-1644.”

The restaurant had been closed since July 18, when a car ran into the rear of the building at the entrance. While the restaurant was open at the time, it was near the end of the day and no one was hurt, Tommy’s said. There was no structural damage to the building.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for reckless driving on parking lots due to the crash.
