PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) wants Virginians to be aware of a scam.
According to VDOT, scammers are sending out text messages that request payment for outstanding tolls.
These text messages appears to be from E-ZPass Virginia or a specific toll facility.
VDOT advises anyone who receives this text to contact customer service at tollroadsinvirginia.com to validate the text message.
