VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Old Dominion took the stage on Friday at Virginia Beach’s annual Patriotic Fest.

The band was visibly upset after the tragedy that occurred just hours before the concert.

The lives of 12 individuals were taken after a mass shooting less than ten miles away from the concert venue.

Before the band sang their hit single “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart”, concert-goers chanted “U.S.A”.

Lead singer Matthew Ramsey stepped away from the mic and took a deep breath before singing the emotional lyrics.
