Armed robbery at Virginia Beach Popeye’s

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A man who robbed a Virginia Beach Popeye’s Sunday morning at gunpoint remains on the run.

Virginia Beach Crime Solvers released these two pictures of the suspect and the apparent getaway vehicle, a newer model U-Haul van.


Police were called to the business in the 800 block of Lynnhaven Parkway on Nov. 24 just before 9:30 a.m.

The suspect reportedly fled through the back door. According to Crime Solvers, he was spotted a street away after the robbery, getting into a U-Haul van.

The suspect, as seen in the photo, was wearing a mask and green gloves. He had on a black hoodie and was wearing a white shirt, black pants, black Vans, and was armed with a handgun.
