VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore held another drive-through food distribution event in Virginia Beach on Tuesday.
The event was held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.
A representative confirmed with WAVY that they served 2,200 households, which is a record for them!
The event was open to all Virginia Beach residents. They received about 40 pounds of fresh and shelf-stable food.
The Foodbank says these distribution events are being funded by Virginia Beach City Council through American Rescue Plan Act money.
