VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Hunt Club Farm in Virginia Beach has announced the addition of Miniature Highland cows to kick off the reopening of their petting farm for the spring season.

“We are so excited and grateful to bring these sweet little bovines to Hunt Club Farm,” Hunt Club Farm owner and operator Randi Vogel said. “Our staff are ready to teach our visitors all about our new resident cows. Our Micro-Mini and Miniature Highlands are much like toddlers, some still on the bottle and all learning the ways of their new home.”
The farm, set to reopen on Saturday, March 8, also features llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs and parakeets. The petting farm will be open weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Miniature Highlands, which come from the Highland region of Scotland, were bred to be more docile and friendly than their larger companions, but can still weigh up to 800 pounds.
Those interested in viewing the newest residents can register online or call Hunt Club Farm’s office at 757-427-9520 for more information.
