VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Portions of Winwood Drive will temporarily close starting on Jan. 22.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close a portion of Winwood Drive, between Laskin Road and Reynard Drive, starting as early as Jan. 22. This is a part of the ongoing Laskin Road Replacement and Widening Project.

The project is expected to last for several months alongside the traffic shifts on First Colonial Road, which is expected to start on Jan. 21.

During construction, turns onto this portion of Winwood Drive will be restricted from both directions. Detours will be put in place to direct motorists to utilize Fremac Drive to access Reynard Drive.
