VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – 19th Street, near the intersection with North Birdneck Road, will be under construction until mid-May.

According to the city, a sanitary sewer project is expected to take place on westbound 19th Street starting on March 18. The road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Detours will be set in place. Westbound traffic on 19th Street turning left onto North Birdneck Road will be detoured via Cypress Avenue and Virginia Beach Boulevard. Westbound traffic on 19th Street turning right onto North Birdneck Road will be detoured via Pavilion Drive.

Warning signs will be put up to advise motorists of the utility work.
