VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD) responded to a house fire Thursday morning.

According to a post from VBFD, crews responded to the 1100 block of Paul Revere Point Road around 8:17 a.m., near Independence Boulevard, for reports of a fire to a single-story house.

Crews arrived to the scene and found the house full of smoke, which originated from the crawlspace.

A WAVY 10 viewer sent images of the scene, showing multiple emergency vehicles blocking the road.

10 On Your Side’s Nick Broadway was at the scene, where he learned the fire originated from a crawlspace at the home.

A small fire in the crawlspace’s HVAC unit was determined to be the cause.

No injuries have been reported, and one adult has been displaced.
