VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police say two people were injured following a shooting Thursday night in Virginia Beach.

According to a tweet from the Virginia Beach Police Department, the call for the shooting came in around 7:14 p.m. in the 100 block of Sea Cove Court.

A woman was struck in the hand and taken to a local hospital for treatment. A man was shot in the torso and is currently in critical condition.

Police say the accused suspect, 22-year-old Portsmouth resident William Wallace has been arrested. He is facing multiple charges including aggravated malicious wounding, malicious wounding, and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Wallace is currently being held at the Virginia Beach City Jail without bond.
