VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Courthouse was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat was received, but it is now clear and staff and juries are back inside, the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office said.

The general public will be allowed back in at 3:45 p.m.

Photos of the scene show people waiting outside with police cars lined up.

“Thanks to everyone for your patience and thank you to our law enforcement personnel and K9s for making sure people exited safely and the courthouse was threat-free and safe,” the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office said.
